Article Marketing Campaigns Succeed With A Submitter Program

Arguably one of the simplest and most cost-effective marketing tools available on the internet today is article marketing. Most if not all professional internet marketers have used and continued to use article marketing to promote sites, products, or services, and why not — all it costs is writing and research time.

The popular term “bum marketing” has recently surfaced as synonymous for article marketing. Given the low cash outlay associated with article marketing, the marketer essentially “bums” free advertising generating product exposure through the articles. In other words, the marketer writes an article and through readership stirs interest in whatever the writer has written about. So how can a marketer reach such a wide audience on the internet with as little as one article?

Typically, with article marketing, there are two options for reaching a broad audience. The first involves the marketer publishing the article on as many internet sites as possible. Internet magazines (like this one), blogs, databases, and other free advertising sites would be a great place to start. However, the second option would be to enlist the assistance of an article-posting program like the one listed in the resource box at the end of this article. These programs generally do all of the back-end posting for you, but more importantly, they will publish your article on hundreds of different sites.

The problems with mass submissions, however, are numerous. Since most folks involved with article marketing aim to have their articles indexed by the major search engines like Google, Yahoo!, MSN, and so on, they run the risk of being ignored altogether. The reason for this is that many of the search engine algorithms match up the articles to make sure they are not the article marketing equivalent of internet SPAM.

To avoid this, most submitter programs tackle this problem by switching up paragraphs or substituting words. The best programs like the noted below will actually have the author re-write part or all of the article. Understandably, it is much easier to rewrite an article than to write three completely different articles. When you consider that a typical article will have roughly six paragraphs, these three versions result in 729 unique articles, meaning your article will have to reach the 730th version before any duplication is ever picked up by the search engines. With seven paragraphs, there will be 2,187 unique versions. However, the message itself remains the same, so reader of version 1 will walk away with the same message as a reader of version 576.

When considering article marketing programs, consider how the submitter program ensures the uniqueness of each article. As well look at the depth of the program’s directory — the larger the list, the larger the distribution. To take proper advantage of article marketing, a submitter program is exactly what you need. A typical submitter will run anywhere from $50 to $250 per month (tip: cost does not necessarily dictate the quality of the program).

Maintaining Your Pay Per Click Advertising Campaign

You’ve finally gotten your campaign off the ground. Keywords have been researched and bid on, synonyms and relevant words taken advantage of, and you’re set up for the next six months. Now, how do keep things working properly? Pay per click campaign management is an important skill that many people forget about.

While it would be nice to set up your campaign and just let it run by itself, that won’t work. You’ll have to track each of your ads and its activity to see how efficient and productive it is. There are plenty of ways to do this.

Traffic and sales can be accessed by tools from Google Adwords itself. This will allow you to know just how much traffic and sales a particular keyword may be giving you. Remember one thing, robot traffic will not produce sales.

Why should you do this? A keyword ad that’s not effective actually drains resources. If it’s idle, it’ll keep you from doing more effective thing. If it brings in traffic that doesn’t lead to sales, you’re paying for that traffic, but you get nothing out of it. Remember that you pay for every click, even if it doesn’t lead to a sale.

Luckily you can rectify the matter and take steps to reverse a poor performing ad. If you have done your work right your ad will have a position within the first 5-10 pages of search results. If positioning is good then you should address the keywords for the ad.

Initially most people think of popular keywords before they consider anything else. They feel that they will drive lots of traffic to their website. This is true but unfortunately this will not result in sales, because it is untargeted. Searchers use these popular keywords when they first start searching but these keywords do not usually take them to where they want to go.

The people who use these broad based keywords are not quite sure what they need. They are browsers rather than serious buyers. The most effective keywords are those that will draw traffic but will also bring in searchers who need and want your product.

You should think about searching with your own keywords. The results may surprise you, as you view other sites that are using the same keyword. Be sure to check out the top 10 competitors in the search results. Look at their sites carefully and see if these are the right sites for your market. If they do not match your site you may have to adjust your keywords. Bear in mind if your keyword is wrong you can be losing money.

It is important to look after your campaigns and keep a close watch on them. This will give you an indication of how well your keywords are doing and which ones should be replaced. When you choose effective keywords you will have profitable pay per click campaigns that will help your business prosper.
